My new cousin, Evan, was born on August 21, 2012 at 8:11am.  He was 7lbs. 7 oz. and 18 3/4" long.  I'm so excited to have a new boy cousin so close to my age.  In September I will get to go to Oklahoma to meet him and my other cousin, Kate.  I can't wait!

First Trip out of Saudi

Monday I was able to use that shiny new passport of mine and leave Saudi Arabia. For my first trip we didn't go far but we drove across the water to Bahrain. It was a fun day of shopping, eating, sleeping, and even my first movie. I decided to be really nice to my parents and be nice and quiet for all of the new Batman movie. I would say my first movie experience was loud with lots of explosions but isn't that what boys like? Although mom says I won't be able to actually watch a movie like that till I'm much much older.

Another plus to the day was getting to hang out with daddy all day long! He even held me for most of the movie.

I can't wait to spend a whole week with both mom and dad in France. 

2 months

That's right, I'm 2 months old.  I would have to say month 2 was pretty routine.  I've started finding my routine in life and am getting used to the whole sleep, eat, play, repeat program.  For month 2 I spent most of my time at home since weather conditions (120 degree heat) and Ramadan didn't make for fun outings.  I didn't mind though because I got to spend a lot of time with my mom.  I even had alone time at night with Dad.  As usual, Mom made me get dressed and take some 2 month pictures. This time I also made her take some pictures with me.

8 Weeks!

Today I am 8 weeks old! Mommy read me the book that tells me what all I should be doing at 8 weeks and I think I passed.  I like to smile and make lots of sounds especially when Mom is talking to me. When I do tummy time I can hold my head up and do some push-ups.  It's not my favorite thing but who really likes working out anyway? I'm starting to discover my hands but having really figured that one out yet. Maybe by the end of the week.  My newborn clothes are starting to get a little tight and a couple outfits don't fit anymore. My PJ's seem to be the smallest thing on me and since Mom loves my guitar pj's I had to take lots of pictures in them before I can't wear them anymore. 

I really enjoy hanging out in my nap nanny during the day so Mom figured out a new way to get me to be entertained while she cooks dinner.  I hang out in my nap nanny under my jungle gym.  The stuff is a little close to me but I still like it. 

I'm spitting up more often (bummer) but Mom thinks I do it just so I can have wardrobe changes. I do get to wear lots of outfits this way :)  I also like hanging out on my changing table, maybe because Mom or Dad are close to me and interacting with me.  I like to kick my feet into my diaper when Dad is changing me to get him all fired up. I think it's funny. 

I guess that is all for 8 weeks. It's nap time so I gotta go!

Smilin'

Did I tell you I'm finally letting Mom and Dad start to see my beautiful smile?  Mom says I officially smiled on purpose on July 25.  There were many moments before when maybe I smiled but we weren't really sure if I knew what I was doing. Mom captured my first official smiles on video.

I've been smiling a lot since then but for some reason Mom just now started getting some pictures of it.

American Citizen

Of course I was an American when I was born but now I have my passport and I feel more official.  

It's definitely not my best picture and this will be the picture on my passport for the next 5 years! Do you think they will be able to really tell that is me in 5 years? I'm not thinking so but luckily I don't pose any national security threat. USA!

1 month

Wow! Can't believe I've already been out in the world for 1 month. Man the time flew by, but I guess time does usually fly when all you do is eat and sleep.  Here are my one month stats:


- weighed in at 8lbs 13 oz. so I've gained 2 pounds in 1 month!
- 22" long - I've gained 1.5" since birth. Doc says this is too much and that someone messed up :)
- I eat about 4 oz.  It's hard to really tell since most of the time I'm nursing off of Mom but when I do take a bottle it's 4 oz.
- During the day I still eat, maybe have some wake time, then sleep. I eat about every 3 hours.
- I typically go to bed around 11:30pm and then sleep until around 3 or 3:30. Then I take a bottle and sleep until about 7:30.
- This first month Grandma or Nana have been giving me my middle of the night bottle allowing Mommy to get some solid sleep time.
- At first, I really hated diaper changes but now I'm getting used to them
- I've had lots of baths and just like diaper changes, at first I hated them. Now they aren't so bad.
- I'm getting better at holding my head up and looking around
- On my one month birthday I rolled over from my tummy to my back! I'm so talented.
- I've been on walks, went to the pool, had a 4th of July party, and visited Khobar
- We are still waiting on my passport but are hoping it arrives soon


This whole month I have been one spoiled lucky boy having tons of people around to hold me and cuddle me.  Although I'm sad everyone is going back home, next month I get Mom and Dad all to myself.
