Since 1st Birthdays are such big occasions, Mom made me get dressed up and go outside to take some pictures. I had fun playing in my chair and on my slide while Mommy snapped the photos. It was pretty fun and I think I look stinkin' cute!

Party like It's My Birthday
As you all know, I had my real birthday party about a month ago so I was a little confused when Mom kept singing "Happy Birthday" to me all day on June 16. I spent the whole day playing and laughing with Mom. Then I took a nap and when I woke up Dad was home to celebrate too! We had a yummy dinner together and then spent some time playing. I was showing off my new walking skills.

Once I had played up an appetite, Mom and Dad decided it was time for cake. Last time I had cake I didn't really know what to do with it. This time, I knew exactly what to do! I ate almost my entire piece of cake. Thanks Mom for pretending to be a baker.

It was a wonderful night and I felt so loved and special!
Letter from Mom
My sweet boy Jacob,
Today is your 1st birthday and I remember it like it was yesterday. Nothing could have prepared us for how much we were going to love our little boy. We loved you at first sight and love you more everyday. You are a sweet, goofy, happy, fun little boy. You give kisses to Mommy and Daddy and blow kisses to everyone else. You love to play on the chair we gave you for your birthday. It's your launching pad for trying to walk. You will stand up out of the chair and excitedly walk towards us. When you want someones attention or just to see them better you will turn your head sideways and look around. It is so cute!
You really enjoy talking. We think you are probably going to be a non-stop talker. You love to babble, giggle, and squeal. You enjoy it when we kiss your belly and tickle you. You love to summer-sault on the couch and have even started enjoying when we chase you around the house. You get up and down the 2 stairs quickly and are a super fast crawler. You love to explore, dig, and plunder. You always take stuff out of drawers and bags. You have started enjoying playing Legos with Mom and Dad.
Jacob, you love to eat! I've never seen a baby eat like you do. You will eat almost anything we put in front of you. You have eaten many types of fruits, vegetables, chicken, and different forms of hamburger meat, roast, and bbq sandwiches. Of course, you mostly enjoy feeding yourself but now will occasionally enjoy eating off a fork. You are an expert at using your cup and even enjoy putting it back in the cup spot on your high chair. We are working on sign language for "more", "all-done", and "out".
One of your favorite things to do is be outside. You love playing at the beach, pool, playground, or riding your tricycle. The beach allows you to have time to explore and play on your own. You finally learned to just stop crawling out into the deep and spend more time splashing around in the shallow. At the pool you love swimming for toys, Dad throwing you in the air, and occasionally being dunked under water. The playground is still a little big for you but you enjoy crawling up and down the fake hill. We go for a walk on your tricycle at least 4 days a week and you just sit back and relax. I think you enjoy the change of scenery.
Jacob, you are such a fun, sweet, beautiful boy. I can't wait to see what the next year brings. I look forward to lots of more playtime together. I love you!
